About this class
In Mark 16:17 Christ promises that all those who believe in Him and are baptized will have signs follow after them, namely, “ In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” These spiritual gifts are gifts given to every follower of Jesus Christ, male and female, and throughout history female disciples of Christ have used these gifts to bear testimony of His power and to bless the lives of His children.
In this class I will share examples from the scriptures and from Latter-day Saint history of times when women have used their spiritual gifts in the Kingdom of God and how as modern disciples of Christ we can carry on this legacy of faith. I will also talk in depth about the divine nature of women’s spiritual gifts, including the gift of giving life, the gift to heal, and the history of midwifery as a spiritual calling and the practice of giving “mother’s blessing” among early Latter-day Saints. My hope is that by the end of the class you will better understand your own spiritual gifts and feel more confident accessing the power of your divine nature.

About Heather Farrell
Heather Farrell is a certified birth doula (DONA International) and has helped dozens of women make the powerful transition into motherhood. She is graduate from Brigham Young University and received her bachelors of science in Public Health and a minor in Women’s Studies. She is an author of the book "The Gift of Giving Life: Rediscovering the Divine Nature of Pregancy and Birth", which is a spiritual birth prepration for LDS women, and is passionate about all things concering women and their divine power of creation.
